Breaking Dawn Scam

Breaking Dawn is the third movie in the Twilight Saga.  Or so some companies would have you believe.  Fraudulent e-mails have been sent out advertising for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.”  These emails have been accompanied by ads populating popular Twilight fan websites.

Taking advantage of keyword searches these sites speak of roles where no experience is necessary and pay ranges between $80 and $250.  Just one problem.  Breaking Dawn is not even in production yet.

Protecting yourself from this scam and others like this can be rather simple.  With regards to a big budget movie such as Twilight, casting calls will be spread through the mainstream media, and will have actual locations.  You will know when and where to go, not get a promise to be told of the casting call.

If you are a more serious actor, hiring an agent may be in your best interest.  You should, however, be smart with hiring an agent and do a thorough investigation.

All it takes to avoid scams such as The Breaking Dawn scam, is being smart and using common sense.  Team Edward or Team Jacob, please remember to use that common sense and as always be smart.
